Description: What is this white hairy / fur on this patient's tongue? Is this really hair / fur? This is a condition called oral hairy leukoplakia. This is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, and it can occur in patients with a weakened immune system, especially HIV / AIDS. Although it can resemble fur/hair on the tongue, it is not real hair.
